Batman's Earliest Gotham Cases Get Explored In New Dark Patterns Series

Numerous writers and artists have explored Batman's history over the years, each with their own unique spin. However, the earliest adventures of the Caped Crusader will be explored in depth in a brand new 12-issue series, Batman: Dark Patterns.
From Dan Watters, Hayden Sherman, Triona Farrell, and Frank Cvetkovic, Batman: Dark Patterns will closely examine numerous cases of Batman. First up is Case 01, where Batman investigates a series of murders and tries to stop them before more lives are claimed throughout Gotham City.
Issue one features main cover art from Sherman featuring a close-up of Batman in one of his earliest costumes, with his iconic yellow logo shining among the dark image. Stevan Subic's variant features Batman chasing after a deranged foe. Additionally, Sherman will contribute a yet-to-be-revealed 1:25 variant for the issue. Set during the early years of Batman's career, Batman: Dark Patterns delves into four mysterious cases as he attempts to cement his place as Gotham City's protector while the city itself fights back against him. This is the Dark Knight Detective at his most stripped-down core, a man relying on his wits, his skills, and little else as he tackles some of the most twisted mysteries Gotham City and its protector have ever encountered.
Case 01: We Are Wounded
A series of sickeningly gruesome murders has sent shock waves through Gotham. Are these the random works of a serial killer, or is there something more sinister at play? Batman attempts to get to the bottom of the mystery before any more victims are claimed.
