There aren’t many cooler nor deadlier heroes in the Marvel Universe than Blade the Vampire Hunter, as the Daywalker has had some of the bloodiest and most badass adventures in his storied history.
Debuting in Tomb of Dracula #10 by Marv Wolfman, Gene Colan, Jack Abel, Petra Goldberg, and Denis Vladimer, Blade has been a key player in Marvel’s horror offerings for the past 50 years, teaming up with Earth’s Mightiest Heroes on several occasions, and more recently playing the main villain in the current Blood Hunt event. On the big screen, Wesley Snipes brought Blade to life on the big screen in the original Blade trilogy, with Academy Award-winning actor Mahersha Ali set to play him in a future MCU movie. With his popularity still on the rise, Marvel is doubling down on bloody adventures in Blade: Red Band #1, which is taking the gorry nature of the sword-wielding hero up a notch!
Blade: Red Band #1 comes in a polybagged cover with the main artwork from Carlos Fabian Villa, the main artist for the series with writer Bryan Hill, offering a disgusting new cover that shows an evildoer getting their head sliced in two. Erik M. Gist draws a variant featuring Blade getting a taste for blood (also available as a 1:100 incentive variant). Meanwhile, there will be a to-be-announced red foil variant, while the series will also have a 1:25 variant from Edwin Galmon which hasn’t yet been shared. Check out Villa’s brutal new cover followed by the text solicitation for the issue below.
For years, BLADE has been the deadliest vampire hunter in the Marvel Universe.
