Creed Next Round: Adonis' Daughter Fights for Glory

The world of Creed is coming to the pages of BOOM! Studios with the boxing saga getting a four-issue limited series exploring Adonis Creed and his next chapter in the ring.
Readers have seen the rise of Adonis in the Creed trilogy, a spinoff of Sylvester Stallone’s Rocky films. Creed has proven himself in the ring with Michael B. Jordan’s portrayal of the son of Apollo Creed following his father’s footsteps. The trilogy of Creed films, with the last project directed by Jordan, has drawn critical acclaim for breathing new life into the longtime franchise. And now, Creed’s story will continue in the comics.
In a new story spearheaded by Jordan (who serves as the creative director on the comic), LaToya Morgan, Jai Jamison, Wilton Santos, and DJ Chavis, the story of Creed will flash forward ten years into the future, where Adonis and his wife Bianca are watching their daughter, Amara, follow in his footsteps. While Amara tries to master the boxing world, her parents worry about her taking on too much responsibility in the ring. However, in true Rocky form, she isn’t going to let that stop her.
The CREED comic book series begins ten years after the events of Creed III. Adonis Creed is out of the ring but not out of the game as he trains – along with his manager-wife Bianca – the next champion—his daughter Amara, now an amateur boxer. But with Adonis and Bianca reluctant to pit their daughter against more dangerous opponents, Amara feels like her career is at a standstill, and she’s hungry for more. Amara will have to find another trainer. Someone who’s not afraid of defying Adonis but still knows how to teach her to fight like a Creed. Who’s up for the challenge of training a young boxer to become the next champion fighter?
Creed: The Next Round features a main cover from Mateus Manhanini featuring Creed standing in front of his daughter on the ropes. Paris Alleyne draws a badass 1:10 incentive cover showing Amara swinging in the ring. Jahnoy Linsday draws a victorious Adonis Creed with his glove lifted in the air in a 1:25 and 1:50 virgin incentive variant. Meanwhile, Jung-Geun Yoon’s Creed-starring 1:100 cover features another celebratory pose for Adonis.
