Dec. 17th, 2024
Lex Luthor is one of DC’s most prominent villains, serving as Superman’s main antagonist for over 80 years. A version of Luthor will appear in James Gunn’s Superman film, where actor Nicholas Hoult will portray the iconic baddie. However, before the film’s release in Summer 2025, Luthor returns in a big way in the pages of DC Comics in Superman: Lex Luthor Special #1.
In Superman: Lex Luthor Special #1 by Joshua Williamson, Eddy Barrows, and Eber Ferreira, the world will need Luthor’s help remembering his past as he struggles with memory issues after they were wiped. Superman will be forced to figure out whether helping Lex is worth it and, if so, if it is worth bringing back his biggest foe.
Superman: Lex Luthor Special #1 features main cover art from Barrows and Ferreira, showing Luthor suited up as he oversees Mercy Graves and Superman. Gleb Melnikov draws a portrait of Luthor (with his storied history in the background) for one variant, while Barrows will also be doing a foil cover. Check out the text solicit followed by the main cover art.
