Masters of the Universe: Forge of Destiny Prequel

Dark Horse Comics is bringing the world of Masters of the Universe: Revelation to the comics, with the hit Netflix animated show getting a prequel series with Masters of the Universe: Forge of Destiny. The four-issue miniseries brings together a creative team of Tim Seeley (Hack/Slash), Eddie Nunez (Chavo Guerrero’s Warriors), Brad Simpson (Local Man), and Andworld Designs.
Masters of the Universe: Revelation was created by Kevin Smith, with the series based on the classic cartoon and Mattel toy line, Masters of the Universe. The initial 10-episode series followed Teela searching for the Sword of Power following Skeletor and He-Man’s final battle, with caused damage to go haywire across the universe. The series featured an all-star cast, including Mark Hamill voicing Skeletor, Chris Wood voicing He-Man, and Lena Headey voicing Majestra. Following the conclusion of the first series, it was revealed another installment, titled Masters of the Universe: Revolution, would release in 2024, with William Shatner joining the cast and Melissa Benoist replacing Sarah Michelle Gellar as Teela.
However, before the next installment of Masters of the Universe arrives on Netflix, Dark Horse Comics is releasing a prequel story following He-Man as he tries to prevent a full-scale war from breaking out. For those wanting more He-Man, the comic is the perfect bridge between the original He-Man series and Revelation. Check out the text synopsis below.
On the world of Eternia, a fragile balance exists between science and magic, a balance kept by the universe's mightiest hero, He-Man! On a peaceful mission to the island nation of Anwat Gar, the royal Eternian caravan comes under attack by the minions of the evil Skeletor! And on the island itself, the nefarious Evil-Lyn sets in motion a plan that could lead to all-out war!
Masters of the Universe: Forge of Destiny will feature three main covers. Cover A from Nunez features the main cast of heroes and villains with He-Man and the Sword of Power front and center. Meanwhile, Freddie Williams and Jeremy Colwell’s variant B features He-Man and Skeletor in an epic fight in front of Castle Greyskull. Cover C comes from superstar artist Javier Rodriguez, who brings his signature style to a stunning artwork featuring the iconic main characters of the series.
All of the main covers for Masters of the Universe: Forge of Destiny #1 are now available for pre-order at CaptCan Comics! The first issue of the much-anticipated four-issue miniseries releases on September 6th.
