New American Psycho Comic: Unseen Horrors Await!

The chilling world of American Psycho is getting a new adaptation showing off an unseen perspective from the iconic film. Sumerian Comics, the publisher who has licensed several iconic properties, including Hotline Miami, Bad Omens, and Watch Dog: Legion, will be bringing serial killer Patrick Bateman to the page in a four-issue miniseries from Michael Calero, Piotr Kowalski, and Brad Simpson revealing new secrets and details about the psychological horror movie.
American Psycho originally came to theaters in 2000 with director Mary Harron and writer Guinevere Turner adapting the Bret Easton Ellis novel to life. The film follows young wealthy investment banker Patrick Bateman, who is secretly a serial killer. American Psycho satirized relevant topics such as consumerism and became a star-turning role for actor Christian Bale. The film featured a star-studded cast, including Bale, Willem Dafoe, Jared Leto, Josh Lucas, Chloë Sevigny, Samantha Mathis, Cara Seymour, Justin Theroux, and Reese Witherspoon. The film was a critical and box office hit while gaining a large cult following years after its release.
A new limited series will follow two new threads not seen in the original release. One narrative will show Batman’s murder spree through an all-new perspective. Meanwhile, a new story will be set in the present day, where a mysterious new psychopath’s own bloodshed will be revealed. The series will feature covers from Greg Staples and multiple variants from Niko Walter. Randall Bruder draws a 1:10 bloodstained variant, the 1:25 incentive variant features an iconic film still from the movie, while Brao’s 1:50 cover has its own unique take on a bloody cover. Additionally, 2000 blank sketch variants will be available. The 1:100 cover will be a virgin variant of Staples’ photorealistic standard cover.

Drug fueled partying leads to bloodshed as Charlie leaves a trail of bodies on her way to discovering the truth about her dark nature.
