New Darth Maul Comic Unveils a Horror-Infused Sith Saga

Darth Maul has become one of Star Wars’ most iconic villains as the Sith turned Crime Lord. He has become much more appreciated since his first appearance in Star Wars: Episode 1 - The Phantom Menace. Now, Marvel Comics is showing off a new adventure from Maul’s past in Star Wars: Darth Maul - Black, White & Red #1!
Marvel has released several titles with variations on the “Black, White & Red” style, where the comics are exactly as presented in those colors. Darth Vader has suited up in his own “Black, White, & Red” miniseries; meanwhile, Marvel heroes like Moon Knight have been featured in “Moon Knight: Black, White & Blood,” putting a dark twist on the comic’s core concept. For those clamoring for more stories about Darth Maul during his time with the Sith, the new miniseries will take readers back to his time working alongside Emperor Palpatine. Maul is tasked with investigating a prison ship transporting a mysterious cult. The villain will quickly discover those being transferred are genuinely terrifying.
Star Wars: Darth Maul - Black, White & Red #1 features a main cover from fan-favorite artist Alex Maleev, featuring the villain in battle with his iconic double-bladed lightsaber while his face overlooks the events. Ben Harvey’s variant shows Darth Maul looking at his lightsaber as Emperor Palpatine stands behind him, showing his dark influence. Frank Miller is drawing a yet-to-be-revealed variant that will also be available as a 1:100 virgin variant — make sure to check out the CaptCan Comics website for more details on that artwork when it’s revealed! Lastly, David Marquez draws a 1:25 variant featuring the trademark look of Maul with his black, red, and white features against a dark backdrop.
