Wait no longer! Plastic Man is back and starring in a new Black Label series, Plastic Man No More! from Christopher Cantwell (Iron Man), Alex Lins (Monarch) and Jacob Edgar (The Ones) and Marcelo Maiolo (Teen Titans)
Plastic Man is one of DC’s oldest heroes, debuting for Quality Comics back in 1941 before moving full-time to DC in the mid-60s. Created by Jack Cole, Plastic Man comics showed the more slapstick side of superheroes, as the hero’s irreverent style and unusual powers made a hilarious combination. He starred in his own cartoon series, has been featured alongside the Justice League in comics, movies, and television series, and still remains relevant more than eight decades after his initial appearance. Plastic Man No More! sees Eel O’Brian get involved in an incident on a mission alongside the Justice League that causes major problems for his usually elastic body. The crook-turned-villain will be forced to confront his checkered past as he doesn’t know how much time he has left. Meanwhile, he’ll be working to save the soul of his son as his internal clock counts down.
The issue features main cover art from Alex Lins, showing the horrifying fate that Plastic Man is about to face. Chris Samnee’s variant shows Plastic Man using his body to show that he is, in fact, no more. Michael Allred draws a groovy variant showcasing Plastic Man twisting his body while sporting one of his signature looks. Lastly, Tyler Boss’ 1:25 incentive variant shows Plastic Man looking through an art gallery with pieces made from the hero. Check out Allred’s sweet cover followed by the text solicit for the issue below.
"Eel O'Brian might be a superhero now—but before he was anything else, he was a crook. Until the accident that turned him into the pliable Plastic Man, Eel was bad to the bone…and just because he no longer has bones doesn't mean that's not still true. When an incident on a Justice League mission leads to catastrophic cellular damage, Plastic Man discovers he just might be out of time to make amends for the past he's tried hard to outrun—or to save the soul of his son, who (unfortunately for him) might have inherited more from dear old Dad than just his superpowers…"
You can officially pick up Plastic Man No More! #1 when the first issue in the four-issue miniseries arrives at CaptCan Comics both in-store and online on September 4, 2024.
