Spider-Man's Newest Arc Features Magical Team-Up With Doctor Doom

Zeb Wells and John Romita Jr.'s run on Spider-Man comes to an end later this year. Joe Kelly and Ed McGuinness will take the famed web-slinger in an exciting new direction in a new arc titled "8 Deaths of Spider-Man," which sees the hero get a magical upgrade while working for one of Marvel's biggest supervillains, Doctor Doom!
Beginning with The Amazing Spider-Man #61, Spider-Man will be chosen by Doctor Doom, the current Sorcerer Supreme of the Marvel Universe, to save the world from an evil god and his minions. Usually, Strange would handle the yearly threat, but with Doom taking his iconic mantle, he's passing responsibilities to Spider-Man. In the process, Spidey gets a magical new suit and eight lives to save the Marvel Universe.
Ed McGuinness and Marcio Menyz’s main cover art for The Amazing Spider-Man #61 features the hero overlooked by a giant-sized Doctor Doom. Additional variants come from Aaron Kuder (The Thing variant), Gleb Melnikov, Paolo Mottura (Disney What If? variant), and Skottie Young. Simone Bianchi draws a 1:25 incentive variant showing Doom holding Spider-Man over New York City, while the Disney variant will also have a 1:100 black and white cover art.
