Star Wars: The Acoyte Expands with Kelnacca One-Shot

Star Wars: The Acolyte has taken viewers to an all-new side of the popular franchise in live-action in the High Republic Era. One of the fan-favorite characters from the show, The Wookie Jedi Kelnacca, stars in his own one-shot comic revealing more about him and his path to heroism.

In Star Wars: The Acolyte, Kelnacca was part of the team of Jedi who arrived on Brendok where they confronted a coven of witches who were using the Force in their own twisted ways. Concerned about the children on the planet, the Jedi tried bringing back twin sisters Osha and Mae. However, when Mae started a fire and inadvertently killed the coven in an attempt to her sister from leaving, Osha was rescued by the Jedi Sol, later becoming his Padawan, In the present-day, Mae, working alongside the Sith, went on a mission to kill the Jedi who appeared on that day on Brendok. While Kelnacca escaped his past, living in isolation in the forest of a planet on the Outer Rim, Mae would get revenge and kill him. Despite the Wookie’s death, Star Wars is shining a light on his story in a new one-shot comic.

Star Wars: The Acolyte - Kelnacca #1 by Cavan Scott and Marika Cresta dives into the unseen history of Kelnacca, providing new insights into the Jedi. The main cover for the series from Phil Noto shows Kelnacca in his Jedi attire and wielding a lightsaber. Takashi Okazaki’s variant features the Jedi Wookie ready for battle - with the cover art also being available at a 1:100 incentive variant. The issue will have a TV variant, as well as a 1:25 incentive variant from Bjorn Barends, showcasing the Jedi up close and personal. Check out that cover followed by the text solicit for the issue.
