Takashi Okazaki Revives The Ronin in New Star Wars Comic

Takashi Okazaki, the artistic director behind the Star Wars: Visions episode, The Duel, is making a surprise return to the franchise, bringing The Ronin to the comic book page once again for a new story.
Takashi Okazaki is a manga, comic, and visual artist who has been part of several franchises. He first gained attention after creating the popular manga franchise Afro Samurai. With Marvel, Okazaki has done covers for several books, including Non-Stop Spider-Man, Iron Fist: Heart of the Dragon, and Deadpool: Black and White. On the animation side, Okazaki worked as a character designer on the anime-inspired Batman Ninja for DC Comics while also being the main person behind an acclaimed episode of Star Wars: Visions. Okazaki wrote about a Ronin from an alternate history in The Duel, where he protected a village from a Sith attacker. Feudal Japan heavily inspired the story. After doing a comic book adaptation of “Star Wars Visions” in 2022, Star Wars: Visions - Takashi Okazaki #1 will see the talented creator revisiting his unique Star Wars world.
The series will serve as a prequel to the Star Wars: Visions episode and comics, showcasing the beginnings of The Ronin and how he rose to become the Sith slayer. Okazaki’s main cover features The Ronin alongside a droid, with a Sith being seen in the backdrop. A virgin variant will be a 1:100 incentive. Legendary artist Stan Sakai brings his trademark style for a variant cover featuring The Ronin being attacked by sword-wielding foes. Peach Momoko will draw a yet-to-be-revealed variant, while Whitle Palacio’s 1:25 variant cover also hasn’t been shown.
