ANDREW THOMAS AND CAPTCAN TEAM UP FOR NEW TMNT EXCLUSIVE COVER

The Transformers franchise has been around for nearly 40 years, as the battle between Decepticons and Autobots has captivated audiences for much longer than anyone could have anticipated. There have been several live-action and animated movies, a line of toys with hundreds of figures featuring different generations and crossovers with other major properties, and comic books, which now are under the Enegeron Universe spearheaded by Robert Kirkman. Now, Skybound Comics is bringing one of the most iconic Transformers comics back to print with a new reprint of Transformers #1.
Transformers #1 features main cover art from the legendary Bill Sienkiewicz, with the story coming from Bill Mantlo, Ralph Macchio, Frank Springer, Kim DeMulder, Nelson Yotmov, Michael Higgins, and Rick Parker. The original Marvel Comics run became a fan-favorite series helping solidify the franchise of a titan of pop culture. In 2024, readers will get the chance to relive all the first appearances in the comic — from Optimus Prime to Soundwave — as the Transformers crash-land from Cybertron and begin their stay on Earth.
Transformers #1 features a main cover from Sienkiewicz which adds Skybound text to the iconic cover from the 1980s. Additionally, Christian Ward will draw a variant, and a sketch variant will also be available. Ward’s cover hasn’t yet been revealed. Check out Sienkiwicz’s main cover which reminds readers of the nostalgic comic.
So, what can readers expect from the issue? Several star creators, such as Moon Knight and ThunderCats’ Declan Shalvey, The Adventure of Young Diana’s Paulina Ganucheau, and Sonic the Hedgehog’s Gigi Dutreix! The anthology will showcase the Turtles during their earliest days, honoring their roots in the classic Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird iteration of the characters.
