White Widow Returns: Yelena Belova Stars in New Marvel Series

The White Widow is returning to the pages of Marvel Comics with Yelena Belova starring in her own limited series later this year.
Belova has long been an essential part of Black Widow’s modern adventures, with the hero first appearing in Inhumans #5 in 1999 by Paul Jenkins and Jae Lee. (with Devin Grayson and J.G. Jones introducing the character a year prior in the Marvel Knights: Wave 2 Sketchbook). The hero was initially tasked with taking out the Black Widow before later becoming one of her closest allies and adapting the White Widow moniker. The hero would also become the second-ever Black Widow. The character’s popularity rose considerably following her live-action appearance in the Black Widow solo film, where Florence Pugh portrayed her. Pugh returned to the role in the Hawkeye miniseries and is set to star as part of the Thunderbolts live-action movie. Ahead of her next big-screen appearance, White Widow is starring in her own comic book series from Sarah Gailey (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) and Alessandro Miracolo (Yoda), which will shine the spotlight back on the antihero.
The new miniseries will see Yelena Belova venture out alone, as she will have to pick which path she wants to end up on: That of a hero or a villain.
The main cover of the series features Belova in her all-white costume in artwork from David Marquez and Rachelle Rosenberg. The comic book will feature a Leirix Li variant cover and Stanley “Artgerm” Lau’s variant with the gun-wielding hero. Li’s cover will available as a 1:50 variant, while Artgerm’s will have a virgin 1:100 variant. Adam Hughes will also have a 1:25 variant for the debut issue of White Widow - but Marvel hasn’t yet revealed it. CaptCan Comics will have all Incentives available for purchase upon release!
